Basics of Pistol Shooting

Service Description

Learn the fundamentals of handgun safety and the basics of pistol shooting in this nationally accredited course. Students receive their Certificate of Training bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor upon course completion. Includes both classroom and on-range instruction. 5% of all proceeds from this event are donated to Colorado Veterans Project. Colorado Veterans Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports our veteran community and transitioning service members. The donation receipt to Colorado Veterans Project generated and raised by this event will be made available. Students will learn: Basics of Handgun Safety: • Pistol Knowledge • Primary Rules of Safety • Storage • Maintenance Basics of Pistol Shooting: • Dominant hand and eye exercise • Safe gun handling exercise • Proper sight alignment and sight picture • Proper shooting position • Live fire range exercise Classroom: 10am- 1pm (NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION DURING CLASSROOM LEARNING) Lunch Break Range: 2-3pm Handgun rental, ammunition, target, range fee, and eye and ear protection are included. Please come dressed comfortably for training, no open-toed shoes or low-cut shirts. Keep in mind that to ensure you can place proper grip, you must have medium to short-trimmed nails. IMPORTANT: NO FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION ALLOWED DURING CLASSROOM LEARNING This policy is verified at check-in. If you desire to bring your own handgun for on-range instruction, you will be allotted time between 1-2pm to pick it up from your home. Please ensure that it is unloaded and locked in its container.
